The economic progress of a country or state is strongly linked with the quality of education and technical education ensures the advancement and vibrant of the economy. It is therefore necessary for our technical education to undertake technical programmes to ensure that they are upto date, not out moded or obsolete and effective fulfill the technological requirements of the country.
The growth of Technical Education in Bihar state has been very slow. Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust (AZMET) Nawabganj, Kishanganj, Bihar, India, is committed to the cause of promoting technical education among an abysmally poor and educationally backward mass of the society. Kishanganj located at the north-eastern part of Bihar is the last district town of Bihar and has a population of over 12 lakh. The education ratio of the district is lowest in Bihar and technical education is almost nil with no technical or engineering institute.
In view of such a horrifying spectacle of, ?no technical centre throughout the length and breadth of the district, Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust took up the all too daunting tasks of imparting technical education to the depressed and neglected populate of the region and as the primary step in this direction AZMET College of Engineering and Technology has been set up at Tengarmari with the help of eminent scholars and social activists of the region.
The college will run both the diploma and degree courses, initially in the trades like Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Diploma College has already been Approved by AICTE, Recognized by Dept. of Sc. & Technology Govt. of Bihar (Patna), and Affiliated to State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Bihar,Patna.
